Sr High Mission Trip

So, this is our first mission trip together and what a blast. It is Thursday night and it has been quite the week from building wheelchair ramps, to video crew and finding hidden drug labs in the thick of the Arkansas mountains.

I can't wait for the Friday cookout and pool party. Finally, we may get that volleyball game in that we have all wanted.

Well, I'll write more when we get back.

All that and cookies too!

Comments

Well, it is time to update my blog again since it's been a while. So here we go...

The first comment I heard about this whole blog thing is that readers cannot comment and I have fixed that issue. Now the whole world can let me know what they are thinking and being that we have some of the smartest youth in the world here at Martin, I have to admit that it scares the daylights out of me that they can now comment.

Other than that, I need to sneak away and try to get our server back up. No email, no church information and I am in withdrawal.

See you on the flip side.

Shooting People for Jesus - Paintball Fun!

Okay, so it's like this...for the past ten years or so of my life, I have had to endure people telling me about how great the whole paintball thing is...

Well that may be true for some, but not for me. I enjoyed going with the group and shooting people. I am not so much in love with the idea of being hit with the paintballs. It's not so bad when one hits and explodes, but when it hits and doesn't break, ouch. For the most part though, the day was great, good weather and a whopping 48 kids showed to play.

Perhaps the worst part of the whole thing was that there were so many people on the course. I suppose if the field had been larger, it would have been more of a sport. My day was made complete in our final game. I finally crept up to the enemy line and nailed a big gunner, although he pretended not to be hit yet again, but then I was killed with a face shot. Now, I didn't mind that so much other than the fact that when I stood and yelled "killed," I was pelted another five times. As I began to walk away, I could barely see and was shot over and over. To end the fish in a barrel shoot, I simply hid to avoid anymore shots.

Ah, now I can say I have paintballed. It may be for some, but not so much for me, well at least not until August when we have our next paint outing. Here's to shooting people for Jesus once again!
